Spend Time Actively in Nature

Kawauso Nature Park is a park rich in nature, located in Tsuno Town, Kōchi Prefecture, and spreads out along the banks of the clear Shinjō River.
It was named "Kawauso" (otter) because Japanese river otters once inhabited this area. Cute otter figures are dotted throughout the park, offering a warm welcome to visitors.
Within the park's spacious lawns, many playful otters seem to appear and disappear. Try to find them while enjoying energetic playtime! There are also paths that lead down to the Shinjō River flowing beside the park, allowing families and groups to enjoy river activities such as playing in the river or camping.
The adjacent "Kawauso Learning Center" (かわうそ学習館) exhibits materials and information related to otters, providing an opportunity to learn about their ecology and history.
There are various ways to spend your time here: strolling through the park searching for the adorable otter figures, enjoying river play in the clear Shinjō River, fully experiencing nature at the campground, or visiting the Kawauso Learning Center.
