Splitting perfectly in two

A massive boulder about 7 meters square located in Toiwadani, approximately 700 meters from Hotoku-ji Temple. The rock is famously split perfectly in half from the center.
According to legend, Sekishusai (Yagyū Munetoshi), during his training, fought a tengu (a mythical mountain spirit) and struck it down with a single sword stroke, leaving behind this split boulder.

Transportation: Take a Nara Kotsu bus bound for “Yagyū / Ochi-Nakamura / Ishiuchi” from JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station (about 50 minutes), get off at “Yagyū,” then walk about 30 minutes.

* Private cars cannot reach the site directly. From Yagyū Tourist Parking, it is about a 15-minute walk.
