A 98-meter waterfall selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls

From the parking lot at the entrance to Tendaki Gorge, follow the mountain trail along the stream for about 1.2 km (about 45 minutes one way), and a white pillar of water suddenly comes into view before your eyes.
This waterfall, which seems to cascade straight down from the heavens, is Tendaki Waterfall, a famous 98-meter-high fall and the highest waterfall in Hyogo Prefecture.
Thanks to its majestic, powerful appearance and the legends surrounding it, Tendaki has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls.
Along the gorge leading up to Tendaki, you will also find a series of waterfalls, including Meoto-daki, Tsutsumi-ga-taki, and Ito-daki.
With fresh green leaves in spring, autumn foliage, and the icy midwinter scenery when the water partly freezes (it never freezes completely), these waterfalls offer beautiful views in every season.
Tendaki Gorge has also been designated as one of the “100 Forests for Forest Bathing (Shinrin-yoku)” and as one of the “Top 50 Forest Bathing Sites in Hyogo.”
